Chronological List of MW Burdette’s Novel by Series

MW Burdette’s Books – By Series

Series 1 – The John Bremen Chronicles Series Completed

This is the first series that was begun in 2015 after I decided to put my experiences in the Vietnam War in print.  In Search of an Identity is actually pretty much historical fiction, or at least it is in the beginning.  This novel sparked three follow up novels which became more crime/murder novels.  If you like Mafia/mob stuff, you’ll love these!  However, the protagonist, John Bremen, moved on from his FBI job to begin a detective agency with his wife, and fellow detective, Daphne Whitacre, and that became the fourth series, The Bremen and Whitacre Detective Agency.  Many of the characters in the original series of novels eventually reappear in the new series alongside John Bremen and Daphne Whitacre.  Novels in order of completion:

In Search of an Identity

The Ultimate Challenge

A Resolution of Honor

Murdering the Peacekeepers

Series 2 – The LT Maggie Watson Murder Series

I saw a need for a female heroine in law enforcement, and Lt. Maggie Watson was my solution.  She’s begins as the Chief of Detectives in the Rowlette City Police Department, a mid-sized town just south of the sprawling City of Chicago, Illinois.  (Rowlette is a creation in my mind, and not a real place, other than in my novels.)  I believe the Lt Watson series is my best to date, but I keep writing!  I think you’ll like the freshness and kick-butt attitude of Maggie Watson.  She is really a heroine in these novels.

Death at the Cathedral

The Piccolo Festival Murders

The Mysterious Magic City Murders

The Four-Leaf Clover Murders

The Ashburn University Murders

The Plein-Air Murders

The Friedmont Hotel Murders

The Rowlette Veterinarian Murders

A New Beginning

A Bounty on the Police

A Tragic Fishing Trip

The Condominium Murders

The Hitchhiker Murders (in process)

Series 3 – The Dowdy and Summers Murder Series

The two main characters in this series are modeled after myself and a dear friend.  We were both selling real estate in 2008 when the real estate market collapsed, making us seek other employment.  That’s about the time I began selling with Progressive Supply, and Mike Summers is a loose amalgamation of my personal situation.  Poetic license has been taken, but it’s fun writing about oneself to a certain degree.

Murder in the Wyndemere Mansion

Where is Cindy Cochran?

Murder in the Rocket City

GAME, SET, MATCH, MURDER!

The Stalker of Baldwin County

Murder at College Night (in progress)

Series 4 – The Bremen and Whitacre Detective Agency

John Bremen and his new wife, Daphne Whitacre, moved back to Ashburn, Alabama, a fictitious small town in North Alabama where John grew up and lived until he went off to war.  This town reappears in various novels in many of my series just because it is too neat a creation not to share regularly.  As I mentioned above, several previous characters in the John Bremen Chronicle series reappear to help John and Daphne solve murders.

What Happened to the Missing Heiress?

The Murder of Judge John P. Brown

Death at the Racetrack

The St. Patrick Day Murders

Fear in Fairhope

The Monster of Lake Eufaula (in progress)

Series 5 – The Pilot and the Pianist Mystery Series

This series just was an opportunity to create pure escapism in the ficticious small town of Ashburn, Alabama.  The protagonists, Butch Todd and Claire Cavendish, actually meet by bumping into each other on the city’s downtown street, causing both of them to fall unceremoniously to the brick streets.  She’s a concert pianist, and he is a recently retired jet fighter pilot.  Most unlikely partners, they make it work.

An Unlikely Partnership

The Joint Base Charleston Murders

The Invisible Cult in Choctaw County (in process)
